FAQ
Where will my music be featured? Who will be using my music?
Your music could be featured by leading global brands and media companies, as well as by independent creators and small businesses. It will be accessible for a range of media platforms, including social media, TV, Film, advertisements, video games, and more. While we frequently work with the clients featured on our site, we are constantly expanding our clientele.
What are the advantages of signing my music with Summercamp Sync?
By partnering with us, we are able to maximize the opportunities for your music to be featured and placed by a wider range of brands as we are able to pitch music that is pre-cleared. Pre-cleared music significantly increases the opportunity to be placed because we are authorized to negotiate deals on your behalf. Productions move quickly, and pre-cleared music allows us to streamline the negotiation and placement process.
By signing with Summercamp Sync, will I give up ownership of my copyrights?
By signing with us, you will be entering into a non-exclusive licensing agreement, meaning that you will keep full ownership of your copyrights.
What is needed to include a track in the Summercamp Sync Library?
For a track to be eligible for sync placement opportunities, we require a signed license agreement from all copyright holders, as well as lyrics and instrumentals. You must also have the exclusive rights to any instrumentals you may have purchased, and any samples used must be royalty-free. We do not accept unlicensed samples, interpolations, or covers of copyrighted work.
How will I know if my song is placed in a sync opportunity?
We will be in touch with you through email if your song has been used in a sync opportunity.
Will I be able to choose/approve placement opportunities and licensing requests?
All works submitted to our pre-cleared library are made immediately available for any sync opportunity. By partnering with us, you are granting us full approval for sync placements in advance, and to negotiate deals on your behalf.
How much am I expected to get paid for sync opportunities?
The payout for placement opportunities depends on various factors, including the client, media usage, term duration, and other relevant considerations. Typically, sync fees can potentially range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on these variables.
When will I get paid if my song is placed for a sync opportunity?
We pay artists within 60 days following the end of the calendar month in which their song was licensed, provided we have received all the necessary information required for payment.
Do I have to let you know if I create any other music outside of our agreement?
Summercamp Sync has the non-exclusive rights only to the music you sign with us. We do not have the authorization to pitch, manage, or control any other work created outside of our partnership agreement.
